Testimonials

Support teams run on Notion + SlapMail

Since implementing Slap, we’ve reduced the time spent on customer support by roughly 80%, which is huge for us as a scale-up. Slap is simple, flexible, and works especially well if you’re already email- or Notion-based. Because it builds on Notion’s flexibility, you can design workflows exactly the way you need them.

Slap consolidates all our support and sales conversations in Notion, ensuring full transparency across teams and giving management a clearer overview. Most importantly, this allowed us to completely discontinue HubSpot and significantly reduce tooling costs.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can Notion be used as a ticketing system?
Yes. Notion works as a ticketing system once it’s connected to a support inbox. SlapMail syncs Gmail or Outlook with a Notion database, so each support email becomes a ticket. The team assigns it, replies from Notion, and the customer receives a normal email back. Status, priority and tags are regular Notion properties, so the workflow can match any process. Learn how in our complete guide to building a ticketing system in Notion.
Can Notion replace Zendesk, Intercom or Help Scout?
Yes, for most email support needs. With SlapMail as the email integration, Notion covers the core helpdesk features: shared inbox, tickets, assignment, replies from Notion, internal notes and reporting. The main advantage is having one single tool. Tickets live next to the product backlog, docs and CRM, so support feeds the rest of the work instead of staying in a silo. The trade-off is that Notion isn’t a tool specialized in support. Large teams working only on support may be better served by a dedicated helpdesk. More details in our comparison of Slap and other customer support solutions.
How do support emails become tickets in Notion?
SlapMail creates a Notion page for every new email thread in the connected mailbox, usually within seconds. One email thread becomes one ticket, and replies update the same page. Teams can sync the whole support mailbox or only emails with specific Gmail labels or Outlook folders.
Can a team share a support inbox in Notion?
Yes. With SlapMail, the whole team sees every ticket in a shared Notion database. Anyone can assign a ticket and reply from it. Several mailboxes or a Google Group can sync to the same database, so help@, billing@ and support@ all land in one place.
Can we discuss a ticket internally without the customer seeing it?
Yes. Comments starting with # stay internal, so SlapMail doesn’t send them to the customer. Teammates can be @mentioned to get a Notion notification. Discussion and customer replies stay on the same ticket page.
Can customers submit tickets with Notion Forms?
Yes. A Notion Form connected to the tickets database creates a pre-filled ticket for each submission. As long as the form collects the customer’s email address, SlapMail sends replies from the support mailbox, and the customer’s answers come back to the same ticket. Tally and other form tools that sync with Notion work too. Step-by-step setup in our guide on building a ticketing system with Notion Forms.
How do we track support metrics in Notion?
Support metrics come from the same ticket database, using Notion chart views. Common charts are tickets by assignee, tickets by tag, average time open and volume over time. Our free support template includes example charts. Notion automations can also close inactive tickets or reopen a ticket when the customer replies.
Is there a free Notion template for customer support?
Yes. Our free customer support template includes a tickets board, a contacts database linked to tickets and example charts. SlapMail also works with an existing Notion database.
How long does it take to set up a ticketing system in Notion?
Most teams connect SlapMail in about 5 minutes: share the Notion database, connect the support mailbox and send a test email. Teams that want help configuring their workflow can book an onboarding call with us.
Do I need a paid Notion plan?
No. SlapMail works on the free Notion plan. A Plus plan or higher is useful for automations (auto-close, reopen, notifications) and charts.
How much does SlapMail cost for a support team?
SlapMail is $8 per user per month, billed yearly. Only team members who send emails from Notion need a seat. Teammates who only read tickets or comment internally don’t. There’s a 7-day free trial, no credit card required.
Can Notion AI help answer support tickets?
Yes. Email threads live on the ticket page, so Notion AI can summarize a long conversation or draft a reply based on the documentation. This requires a Notion plan that includes Notion AI.
